Intensive Month for Juniors in the Indian Province – May 2025
2nd May 2025
On 2nd May 2025, we, the Junior Sisters of the Indian Province, inaugurated our intensive month of juniorate at our Provincial House, Archana, in the presence of our Rev. Provincial Superior Sr. Shiny Muttathottil, the Provincial Councillors Sr. Brigit Thekkemukalel, Sr. Jaya Vattavila, our Junior Mistress Sr. Biji Mulackal, and the sisters of the Archana community. The inauguration, held under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope”, was made vibrant by the presentation of a chart prepared by the Juniors based on this theme.

Throughout the intensive month, we attended various enriching classes conducted by priests and our own sisters. We were deeply inspired and enlightened by the theme of the Jubilee Year, “Pilgrims of Hope”, as reflected in the Bible. Pilgrimage, both external and internal, symbolises a journey in search of a profound experience of God. In the Old Testament, the Israelites journeyed towards the Promised Land, and in the New Testament, we, the new Israelites, journey towards Eternity. We were especially motivated by the religious life of Sr. Christy Babu, who reminded us that “Jesus loves us as we are, and God’s love for us never changes.” We were also encouraged to become mystics in our daily lives—seeing God in every moment, every task, and every person—living a life centred on Christ.
It was a privilege to spend time with the inmates at Anbuillam in Tamil Nadu. We were deeply inspired by the life and mission of Rev. Fr. Rajesh MCBS, Director of Anbuillam. Witnessing the dedicated service of our sisters there was truly encouraging, and their guidance helped us to care for the inmates with love and compassion.
We experienced great joy among ourselves through collaboration and by sharing our personal experiences. We also had the opportunity to study important Church documents, including the encyclical letter of Pope Francis “Dilexit Nos”. Various activities were conducted to develop our talents and enrich our ideas. A special highlight was the opportunity to join the Decennium Sisters for some classes and a day outing. We also visited several churches in Alappuzha as part of our pilgrimage journey in this Jubilee Year 2025. On the 18th, a Sunday, we organised a small cultural programme during recreation time.
From 21st to 26th May, we attended our annual retreat, preached by Fr. Kevin OCD. This retreat helped deepen our spiritual journey with Christ and strengthened our consecration. It renewed our commitment to live our vocation gratefully and to bear the flame of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, through His word and love.
With hearts full of gratitude and love, we extend our sincere thanks to our Rev. Mother General and her Councillors for their continued support in our consecrated life. We are especially grateful to our beloved Provincial Superior Sr. Shiny Muttathottil and her Council, and to our dear Mistress Sr. Biji Mulackal, for their constant guidance and encouragement on our vocational journey. We remember all the members of our Province with gratitude and appreciation for their support and prayers.
